Shin Splints? Tight Calves? Here are 2 Variations for you to try to get those calves loose and feeling better. Try both the horizontal and vertical rolling variations to improve your tissue quality and alleviate any referred pain issues your calves might be causing in your shins or knees. The calves take a lot of abuse and are often neglected until issues present themselves -so start rolling them 2-4 minutes each day it can do wonders for how you move and feel. Direct AB Work Death ๐Ÿ’€ ~ Peg Board Leg Lift Variation ~ 10-15 Reps per set resting for 1 Minute between sets completing 4 total sets. By utilizing the peg board it helps take the leg swing and momentum out of the movement forcing you to pause and engage your abs on each rep. Being packed tight to the wall also emphasizes tucking the tailbone more to target the lower abdominals more and less on the hip flexors. Knee Pain? Or feeling your knees are โ€œstiffโ€ or โ€œtightโ€ odds are your quads are the culprit or at least part of the problem. Take 1-2 minutes on each quad or roll both together (both versions shown here) - The key is to let the legs relax and allow the roller to dig into the tissue. Search for any hot or trouble spots and spend your time their noticing any imbalances between legs. Integrate this daily or at least a handful of times per week to alleviate that pesky โ€œkneeโ€ pain.
